Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has assured fans of the team’s determination to bounce back from their recent defeat and clinch the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup title.
The Porcupine Warriors ended their Ghana Premier League campaign with a 3-1 loss to Vision FC on Sunday, but Coach Zito believes the result serves as a timely warning ahead of the FA Cup final.
“Vision FC played well and deserved the win. But for us, the positive side is that it’s a wake-up call before the final,” Zito said in his post-match interview. “It gives me the opportunity to rearrange my boys and prepare them better. The defeat will help us; it’s a call to work even harder.”
Kotoko are set to face lower-tier side Golden Kick in the FA Cup final on Sunday, June 15. The match will take place at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Legon, with kickoff scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
Despite the setback on the final day of the league season, Zito remains optimistic about ending the campaign with silverware, as Kotoko look to cap off a challenging season on a high.
