Banned CEO of AshantiGold SC, Dr. Kwaku Frimpong is confident the “court will bring out the truth”on the back of the suspension of the Ghana Premier League.
The Ghana Football Association earlier announced the domestic top-flight was on hold following a motion on Notice for Injunction filed on Wednesday, September 28, at the Human Rights High Court by Ashantigold SC.
The Obuasi-based club took the decision to the court after their demotion together with Inter Allies to the third tier for manipulating a high-scoring matchday 34 fixture in the 2021/22 campaign by the FA Disciplinary Committee.
“God is fighting for us, let us all remain calm and wait for the court to pass it’s rightful judgement,” Dr. Kweku Frimpong told Kumasi based Akoma FM.
“It is only the court that can decide whether the GFA has the power to ban Ashgold, please remember that the courts of our land are powerful than any other body including GFA.”
“Ashgold fans should remain calm and wait for the decision of the court because it is only at the court that the real truth will be told and justice done.” He concluded
Earlier today, the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association banned and suspended Dr. Kweku Frimpong and his son, Emmanuel Frimpong for 10 and 8 years respectively.
