Former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ibrahim Saanie Daara has raised concerns about the current quality of the Black Stars squad.
In a candid assessment, Daara stated that the team is comprised of more average players than exceptional ones.
His comments comes after Ghana’s recent poor performance, including failure to qualify for the 2025 African Cup of Nations for the first time in 20 years.
The four times African champions finished the qualification campaign bagging only three points after playing six games failing to win a single game.
In a recent interview with Sporty FM, Daara stated that the team lacks exceptional players, with only a few standing out from the rest.
“Looking at the current Black Stars playing body apart from Mohammed Kudus, Jordan Ayew and Partey, alot of Black Stars players are average, ” he concluded.
The team is set to bounced back in March this year for their 2026 World Cup qualifier against Chad.
