Suwon FC vs Ulsan Hyundai – 28/05/2022

Ulsan to Bolster Their Lead at the Top of the K League With a Narrow Win Over Suwon

1327

K League action continues this weekend with the league leaders, Ulsan Hyundai, travelling to the Suwon Sports Complex to meet with a Suwon side struggling for any sort of form right now with them just about keeping their head above water.

It’s been a long and tiresome season to date for Suwon, who are now entering this game knowing that should they lose and Seongnam win, they could be bottom of the table if the goals difference margin is also overturned.

The goals difference is one they’ll need to keep an eye on, as they have conceded the league’s most goals with 26, while scoring a decent tally of 19 themselves.

On the other hand, with three wins, three draws and an almighty eight losses after just 14 games, Suwon have only 12 points so far.

Moreover, Kim Do-kyun’s men now trail the championship rounds spots of the top six by five points, with them having to overturn a points deficit over five clubs if they are to get out of the relegation round.

Last campaign, Suwon ended up in the championship round by finishing fifth at the end of it all with 14 wins and 15 defeats.

This was also the club’s first time back in the K League for five seasons, and if things don’t improve quickly, they could well be on their way back out of the top flight of South Korean football.

Suwon are also winless in their past six games, which even saw them lose the Korean FA Cup to Bucheon at the end of April. Sangju Sangmu were the last victims of a Suwon win, with the club losing to the likes of Seoul, Jeju and Jeonbuk in recent weeks.

As for Ulsan Hyundai, they will be aiming to stay top of the division for the forthcoming weeks with the club already boasting a healthy eight-point advantage over second-placed Jeonbuk.

This comes with Ulsan winning 10 of their 14 games so far, and losing just the one.

The league leaders have also netted a league’s best of 23 goals in the competition, and let in the fewest goals with nine.

Hong Myung-bo’s side are also back in the win column after drawing with Incheon, as Ulsan have gone on to beat Jeju and Sangju Sangmu in the past two K League games, while also easing past Gyeongnam in the Korean FA Cup.

Forebet predicts another win for them here and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
