Chelsea to win
Chelsea will be following title rivals Manchester City this weekend with a Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium the day before Emma Hayes’ side head to the Hammers. With the race for the title as tight as ever, Chelsea simply cannot afford to slip up, as the campaign enters into the final stages.
A stumble against City in February is the only negative WSL result of 2024 for Hayes with five wins from their six league outings since the turn of the calendar year so you have to fancy Chelsea to Win again.

The goals have flowed for Chelsea of late and they remain on course for a potential WSL, FA Cup and Champions League treble before Hayes moves on this summer. The Blues are pushing hard to give Hayes the perfect sign off and they have been ruthless in front of goal.
All five of their league wins in 2024 have included scoring Over 2.5 Goals inside 90 minutes and they lead the WSL goal scored tally with 48. That number is stretched even further by total goals scored in those victories with three of the five featuring Over 3.5 Goals between both teams.

Despite West Ham’s poor form of late, the Hammers will still look to pose a threat in attack, which Chelsea will need to be wary of. The Hammers have won just two of their last seven league matches but they found the back of the net in six of them making Both Teams To Score an appealing punt.

Lauren James is the leading scorer for Chelsea across all competitions this season with 13 in the WSL and 15 overall. However, she has only scored once in her last three league starts, so we are looking for a fresh option to fire against West Ham.
Experienced forward Fran Kirby is set to return to the starting XI, and she has two goals in her last three starts in all competitions, with an average of 1.5 shots on target based on her last six starts. The England stalwart could well pick up the slack so we’ll finish with Kirby To Score Anytime.
