Former Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari has heaped praise on Jeremie Frimpong, expressing strong belief in the defender’s ability to thrive at Liverpool.
The 24-year-old wing-back is reportedly on the verge of sealing a move to the Premier League champions, with an agreement already in place and an official unveiling expected soon.
Frimpong has enjoyed a remarkable rise since leaving Manchester City’s academy, impressing at Celtic before becoming a standout performer at Bayer Leverkusen, where he registered 48 goal involvements in the Bundesliga.
“Jérémie Frimpong is an exceptional player,” Muntari said in an interview with Africafoot.com.
“The frequency of his support allows him to change direction while running. His technical agility and speed are evident. I am convinced that he will establish himself at Liverpool since he is a player who is very consistent.”
Frimpong is reportedly in the UK for medicals and seen as a long-term replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is expected to join Real Madrid.
The switch marks another major step in Frimpong’s career as he prepares to test himself at one of football’s biggest stages.
