Uganda international Steven Desse Mukwala is set to part ways with Asante Kotoko at the conclusion of the current season, as per reports from local media.
The 24-year-old striker, who joined the Ghana Premier League side as a free agent in August 2022, has made a significant impact during his tenure with the club. Mukwala’s existing contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and reports suggest that he won’t be extending his stay.
Mukwala is rumored to have a verbal agreement with an Algerian club, and upon the expiration of his contract with Kotoko, he is expected to make the move to join them.
Having emerged as a key figure for Kotoko this season, the former Vipers SC forward has showcased his goal-scoring prowess, netting eight goals and providing one assist in 16 appearances in the Ghana Premier League campaign. Mukwala’s impending departure will mark the conclusion of a noteworthy chapter with Asante Kotoko.
