St Mirren are poised to complete the signing of Ghana Under-20 forward Abdul Hakim Sulemana, with the highly rated attacker expected to finalise a move to the Scottish Premiership club within days.
The 20-year-old is due to undergo a medical in the next 24 hours before sealing the transfer, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.
If there are no late complications, Sulemana will link up with his new team-mates ahead of the 2026-27 Scottish Premiership season, adding further depth and youth to the Paisley side’s attacking options.
Rapid rise across Europe
Sulemana’s impending switch to Scotland marks the latest step in a fast-developing career that has already taken him through three European leagues.
He emerged from Ghana’s renowned Right to Dream Academy, a production line that has sent several young African players into top European competitions. In 2023, he earned a move to French club Olympique Lyon, joining their academy set-up to continue his development in a more competitive environment.
After a season in France, Sulemana transferred to Danish Superliga side Randers FC in 2024, moving closer to senior football. The following campaign, in search of regular first-team opportunities, he was loaned to Danish First Division outfit Hillerød Fodbold for the 2025-26 season.
It was in Denmark’s second tier that the forward began to attract broader attention, impressing scouts with his performances and convincing St Mirren that he was ready for a step into a more prominent league.

St Mirren, who have been looking to bolster their forward line, moved swiftly to secure an agreement for Sulemana ahead of the new campaign.
