It’s top against bottom in UEFA Nations League Group B on Saturday, as high-flying Spain welcome struggling Switzerland to Real Zaragoza’s Estadio La Romareda.

Switzerland find themselves rock bottom of the standings – one point behind third-place Czech Republic – after losing three of their four clashes.

On the flip side, Spain find themselves atop the group – one point clear of second-place Portugal and five points ahead of Switzerland.

Spain have yet to taste defeat in the Nations League this year, picking up two wins and two draws from their first four games.

After drawing with Portugal (1-1) and Czech Republic (2-2), they claimed back-to-back wins over Switzerland (0-1) and the Czechs (2-0).

Not only have the Spainards avoided defeat in each of their last six outings across all competitions, but they have also avoided defeat in 33 of their previous 36.

That said, each of Spain’s past three home games have produced under 2.5 goals – meaning we are likely to see a low-scoring clash on Saturday.

As for Switzerland, they began their campaign with three straight losses against Czech Republic (2-1), Portugal (4-0) and Spain (0-1).

However, they managed to gain their revenge over Portugal on Matchday 4 – claiming an unexpected 1-0 victory last time out.

When you look at the bigger picture, the Swiss have only managed to win two of their previous 12 Nations League clashes.

Given that Switzerland have netted just two goals in four Nations League games this year, they aren’t expected to score more than once against Spain.

Head-to-head: Spain have faced Switzerland four times since 2020, with two Spain wins and two draws coming during that period.

Across all competitions, all of the previous five meetings between Spain and Switzerland have dished up under 2.5 goals.

Team news: Spain will be without injured Manchester City centre-back. The uncapped duo of Borja Iglesias and Nico Williams have been given the chance to impress.

Meanwhile, Switzerland could give international debuts to 20-year-old Ardon Jashari and 21-year-old Dan Ndoye.

Given the traditionally low-scoring nature of this fixture, Saturday’s clash between Spain and Switzerland is destined to be a tense affair.

Forebet predicts that Spain and Switzerland will play out a low-scoring draw, with both sides netting under 1.5 goals.
