San Lorenzo are unbeaten in Argentina’s Liga Pro ahead of round No. 5 versus Tigre. The home team has taken six points from 12 points on offer with one win and three draws.

On Sunday, San Lorenzo will seek a second straight win and to keep their unbeaten streak going as Tigre come to visit. Tigre are 20th in the 28-team Argentine top flight. Sunday’s visitors are in poor form and are aiming to end a three-match winless streak.

Tigre started the campaign well with a 2-1 win over Union Santa Fe. A 1-1 draw with Barracas Central followed prior to Tigre losing two straight matches. A 5-3 loss to Boca Juniors was followed by a 1-0 defeat to Banfield last time out.

San Lorenzo posted an opening day 1-1 draw with Independiente. A nil-nil draw with Newell’s Old Boys followed before a 3-3 stalemate with Arsenal Sarandi. In round No. 4, San Lorenzo defeated Central Cordoba de Santiago 2-0.

Sunday’s match will be the third home game of the season for San Lorenzo. They drew their opening two home matches of the season. San Lorenzo have scored four goals and conceded four at home this term.

Tigre have taken three points from six on offer away from home in 2022. They have been outscored 6-5 on the road.

Draws have been the dominant result between these teams in recent meetings. Three of the last six games between San Lorenzo and Tigre finished as stalemates. San Lorenzo won one of those six games while Tigre picked up to victories.

San Lorenzo manager Rubén Darío Insúa will hope the side can find the back of the net more regularly going forward. The team has scored six goals in four games with four different goalscorers finding the back of the net.

Paraguayan Adam Bareiro and Argentine Ivan Leguizamon are tied for the team lead in goals with two apiece. Tigre have also scored six goals in four matches in Liga Pro. The team has relied on forward Mateo Retegui for scoring. Retegui has three of Tigre’s six goals.

Sunday’s game will be the first meeting between San Lorenzo and Tigre since 2019. San Lorenzo are unbeaten in their last two games with Tigre and in round No. 5, should pick up another win.

San Lorenzo are in good form and should post a 3-2 win versus Tigre. Based on some of the previous matches played by both teams in 2022, our expectations are for a high-scoring game.
