Ghanaian coach Samuel Mensiro has been unveiled as the new head coach of IFK Östersund’s women’s team.
His appointment was confirmed on Thursday, handing the fast-rising tactician a major opportunity within an organisation he already knows well.
Mensiro has long been viewed as a trusted figure at the club, admired for his leadership qualities and his commitment to its broader project.
His work across various roles over the years earned him strong respect from players, technical staff, and supporters.
Club officials believe his arrival will inject renewed purpose into the women’s squad and help strengthen their competitiveness.
“We believe Sam’s leadership will inspire the squad and drive the positive progress we’ve been working toward,” the club said in a statement.
The La-born coach will begin his duties immediately as the team ramps up preparations for upcoming matches.
Mensiro previously spent seven years at the Jemtkraft Arena, contributing significantly to the club’s rise and playing a part in their memorable Swedish Cup triumph in 2017.
