On Monday evening, Sampdoria hosts Roma at the Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris as the home side looks to move off the bottom of the Serie A table.

Sampdoria

The home team are experiencing a woeful campaign in Serie A, having picked up just three points from their opening nine matches of the league campaign.

A 1-1 draw at Bologna last time out in the Italian top-flight ended a four-game losing streak. However, the draw means that Samp has not won in their last ten league matches, dating back to the final gameweek of the previous season.

Sampdoria’s biggest weakness of late has been conceding too many goals, as they have conceded at least two goals in four of their last five matches in Serie A.

Their recent home form has also hindered their chances of picking up points, as the team from Genoa hasn’t won in their last five home games in Serie A.

Roma

The Giallorossi’s recent league form has been slightly inconsistent. However, Jose Mourinho’s team has now won three of their last four league matches after a 2-1 victory over Lecce last time out in Serie A.

The game also saw the visitors score two goals for the third time in four matches in the Italian top flight. A victory in this clash could move the Giallorossi into the Champions League spots if results go their way elsewhere.

Roma’s recent away form in Serie A has been decent, as the team from the Eternal City has won four of their previous six league matches on their travels.

Their recent away games have also been high-scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in six of their last eight league matches on their travels.

What does Forebet predict?

Forebet predicts that Roma will record a victory in a high-scoring encounter to continue their decent recent form in Serie A.
