Ghanaian legend Abedi Pele engineered Andre Ayew’s free transfer to Nottingham Forest, according to the grapevine.
The Maestro was heavily involved behind the scenes throughout the negotiations.
Abedi flew to England earlier this week to help sort out his son’s future and was instrumental in ironing out the final details of the six-month contract.
The Ghana captain will remain at the City Ground until the end of the season.
The 33 year old reunites with Steve Cooper having previously played under the Forest Head Coach at Swansea City, scoring 35 goals in 84 appearances under the Welshman’s tutelage.
He joined the Reds following his recent departure from Al Sadd.
