Revealed: Man United Player of the month

Cristiano Ronaldo has been voted Manchester United’s Player of the Month for April. 

The Portuguese international has arguably been United’s Player of the Season so far, and he showed that once again through the month as he scored five goals in four matches.

He started the month with a stunning hat-trick at home against Norwich City, a match United won 3-2. 

The mercurial forward then scored a goal each against Arsenal and Chelsea to cap off an impressive individual performance. 

Ronaldo’s competitors for the accolade were Nemanja Matic and David De Gea, but he emerged as the clear winner with 74 percent of the vote.

De Gea came in second with 21% of the votes, with Matic grabbing third spot with 5% of the fans’ votes. 

This is the second consecutive time Ronaldo has won the accolade, having also been named March player of the month, during which he scored a hat-trick against Tottenham. 

It’s also his fourth overall this season, further underlining his importance to the team.
