Premier League outfit Manchester United have offered up Anthony Martial in a cash-plus-player deal for a key member of Inter Milan’s frontline, according to reports.
The player in question? Lautaro Martinez.
Argentine hitman Martinez is currently in the midst of another fine campaign to date, having racked up 21 goals and three assists across all competitions, amid Inter’s ongoing efforts to secure a 2nd successive Serie A title.
And such endeavours, it would seem, have piqued the attentions of those in a position of power on the red half of Manchester.
As per a number of reports, including one by way of Nerazzurri journalist Marco Barzaghi, Man United have gone as far as to table an opening offer to bring Martinez to Old Trafford this summer.
The proposal in question is understood to consist of a cash offering in the region of £42 million, as well as the signature of Anthony Martial.
French international Martial is of course in the thick of a 6-month loan stint with Sevilla at present, but widely expected to return to base in Manchester upon the conclusion of the campaign.
His arrival could prove short lived, though, amid suggestions that Inter are open to the idea of parting with Martinez, albeit with the South American himself, significantly, keen to link up with a club plying their trade in the Champions League.
? Among others, Lautaro Martínez has fuelled interest from #mufc, who have offered a part-swap deal with Anthony Martial. He wants to join a club in the Champions League and Inter, who are strapped for cash, have signalled their intention to sell him for £60-70m. [@garyjacob]
