Burgos to pick up three points versus Racing Santander

7326

Racing Santander and Burgos will play in La Liga 2 for the first time since 2018 on Sunday. Burgos are third in the La Liga 2 table and seeking promotion to the top flight. A win on Sunday against Racing could send Burgos into first place depending on results elsewhere.

Burgos are nine points ahead of Racing Santander in the Segunda table. Racing are 14th in the league after 15 games. The team is in good form and will look to move further up the La Liga 2 standings with a win.

Racing took 10 points from the last six games. They went unbeaten during that six-game span. Racing Santander are coming off a 1-0 win against FC Andorra.

Goals are an issue for Racing Santander. Los Verdiblancos scored just four goals in their last six games while conceding a mere two goals.

The Segunda is a low-scoring league. The league saw 320 goals after 15 matchdays. Games in the Segunda average 1.93 goals per game ahead of matchday No 16.

Burgos picked up 12 points from their last six games. They too struggled for goals with just seven in the last six matches. The Burgos’ defence played well with just four goals allowed across the last six fixtures.

The visitors are coming off a 1-0 home loss to Tenerife in the Segunda. Despite the defeat, Burgos have a good away record in the Segunda. The team has a record of 2W-4D-1L with a goal difference of +1.

Goals on the road have been rare for Burgos. They scored three times and conceded twice in seven away games. Burgos’ manager Julian Calero will hope the defence plays well once more on the road against Racing.

The Segunda saw 59% of matches finish with both teams not scoring after 15 matchdays. There is a strong possibility Racing Santander and Burgos will finish with both teams not scoring on Sunday.

Racing Santander are not a strong home team. Los Verdiblancos took just seven points from seven games at home. They were outscored 5-3 in their seven home fixtures.

Although Racing are unbeaten in five straight home games, four of those matches ended as draws.

There were under 2.5 goals scored in Racing Santander’s last eight games in the Segunda. Meanwhile, there were under 2.5 goals scored in 16 of Burgos CF’s last 18 games in the Segunda.

Sunday’s game should be a low-scoring affair with third-place Burgos pulling off a 1-0 win. The league saw 9.09% of matches finish as 1-0 victories for the away team after 15 matchdays.
