Prosper Ogum felt disrespected after Kotoko management prevented him from signing this player —

More details are still emerging about events leading to the resignation of Prosper Ogum as head coach of Ghana Premier League champions Asante Kotoko.

The Porcupine Warriors’ fraternity was left shocked on Wednesday afternoon as news of the resignation of the 47-year-old became public.

According to multiple media reports, the Kumasi-based club called a meeting to review the club’s performance and also discuss matters including player recruitment, the youth teams, and their upcoming campaign in the CAF Champions League.

According to firebrand broadcast journalist Andy Obeng Kwaku on Asempa FM, Ogum recommended the signing of Medeama SC captain Joseph Tetteh Zutah.

According to the journalist on the Ultimate Sports Show, management quickly shot down the request and accused the coach of harbouring ideas of planting the player in the squad as a gossip. The accusation made the coach feel mightily disrespected by the club.

Zutah is a former student of Ogum at the University of Cape Coast and the two share a strong rapport.
