With only 2 games to go in what has been an exhilarating season from start to finish, everything is still to play for. Is the die cast or will we see some drama at the death?
Ahead of the final two games in the 2021/22 Premier League Season, we take a look at the likely title winners, next season’s Champions League protagonists, those potentially succumbing to relegation and the question over who will emerge victorious in the battle for the Golden Boot and the PFA Player of the Year Award.
Premier League Champions
In what has been a captivating contest from the word go, the battle for supremacy in this season’s Premier League, has barely ceased to entertain and has produced an abundance of astonishing results, fantastic flashes of skill and emotional encounters. For a while it has been a two-horse race, with Liverpool and Manchester City gradually pulling away from the rest. City have one hand on the trophy with two games to play and sit three comfortable points ahead, though its Liverpool who have the easier run in. City look the most likely to lift the trophy at 1/16 with Liverpool priced at 7/1 but with the way this season has gone, it’s still anyone’s game.
The top four battle
The fight for the all-important Champions League spots has understandably been just as fierce as the title race and has consistently featured clubs leap frogging one another. Chelsea looks to have confirmed third place and the good campaigns of Arsenal and Tottenham, make them front runners to take the final spot. A comfortable Spurs win over rivals Arsenal makes it impossible to say who will clinch a role in next season’s elite European competition with the Gunner current favourites at 5/6 and Tottenham a marginally bigger price at 19/20.

Relegation
With Watford and Norwich already relegated for the second time in three seasons, the scramble to avoid filling out 18th place in the Premier League in 2021/22 hasn’t been so clear cut. Leeds United currently occupy the final relegation position with the two other potentials Burnley and Everton sitting in the spots above, both with a game in hand over the West Yorkshire giants. Based off recent form, Leeds, who have lost three games on the bounce, are the favourites to go down priced at 8/13, while Burnley and Everton are at 8/5 and 10/1 respectively.
Top goalscorer
Throughout the 2021/22 season, one player has kept consistently putting the ball in the net and assisting unlike any other. It has been a fruitful season for a lot of players in the Premier League, but Mohamed Salah leads the way on assists and goals, scoring 22 and setting up 13 times. Despite not scoring in six games in all competitions, the Egyptian still looks set to reclaim the golden boot he won back in 2018/19. He is priced at 4/9 to take home the trophy from Heung Min Son who is hot on his heels, with 21 goals and in deadly form, scoring seven in his last six games with Burnley and Norwich to play in Spurs’ final two fixtures. He’s 13/8 in the betting to claim a first Premier League Golden Boot. It is also worth mentioning the great Cristiano Ronaldo who has 18 goals for the season and though is priced at 66/1 to win the Golden Boot, hasn’t been short of surprises in his illustrious career.
PFA Player of the Year
Thought to be one of the clearer cut of the ongoing battles for superiority in the Premier League this season, the PFA Player of the year award has been known to throw up a few surprises and with the way Kevin De Bruyne has been playing in the latter part of the term, not many would be shocked to see the Belgian pip Salah to the accolade. A streak of phenomenal recent performances from the midfield maestro has seen his odds of winning slashed from 5/1 to 5/2, though Salah still remains the favourite and is priced at 2/7.
