The Ghanaman Centre of Excellence in Prampram will host the 5th edition of the KGL Foundation Inter-Regional Colts Championship, with teams arriving on Friday ahead of Saturday’s opening ceremony and fixtures.
This year’s competition, running from September 20–27, 2025, has been expanded to 12 teams, featuring U-17 selections from all 10 Regional Football Associations alongside the GFA Elite Academies from the Northern and Greater Accra zones.
Defending champions Western Region begin their title defence in Group A against Upper West Region, while Volta Region take on Elite Academy (Bolga) and Greater Accra clash with Northern Region, last year’s bronze medalists.
In Group B, Elite Academy B (Greater Accra) face Upper East Region, Central Region meet Brong Ahafo, and Ashanti Region battle 2024 runners-up Eastern Region.
The semi-finals are slated for Thursday, September 25, with the grand finale on Saturday, September 27 in Prampram.
Over the years, the KGL U-17 Championship has proven to be a fertile ground for Ghanaian talent, producing players who have gone on to feature for the national youth sides, shine in the domestic leagues, and even secure moves abroad.
