Tuesday night brings us action from the top division in the Nations League with a League A Group 4 clash between Poland and Belgium with both teams sitting on four points apiece and both within a win of the group leaders, Netherlands, and a possible place in the semi-finals.

2nd placed Poland have produced an encouraging if not inconsistent campaign in this season’s Nations League competition as the hosts sit in 2nd place having won, drawn and lost in equal measure to date.

Poland started in bright fashion as they registered a 2-1 home win over Wales but their euphoria was short-lived as they were handed a heavy 6-1 defeat away from home at Tuesday night’s opponents, Belgium, but the Poles certainly dug deep in their last fixture as they picked up what could prove to be a solid point in a 2-2 draw away at Netherlands.

That result should therefore give the hosts plenty of confidence for this upcoming encounter at Stadion Narodowy.

Belgium were held to a 1-1 draw away from home at Wales on Saturday evening as the Welsh notched a late, late equaliser, but this nevertheless gave Belgium a valuable point and extended their unbeaten run to two games.

The Red Devils had begun their Nations League campaign in disastrous fashion as they found themselves on the receiving end of a 4-1 mauling at the hands of Netherlands on home soil as well, so the visitors will be pleased that they have at least produced a positive response from that opening landslide defeat.

That loss has been Belgium’s only slip-up in their last seven matches overall in all competitions which also includes wins against Estonia and Burkina Faso although these were against lesser opposition along with being held to three draws as well within this sequence.

Previous draws with Wales and Republic of Ireland were both away from home and perhaps show that Belgium are human after all despite their recent rise on the European international stage.

In addition, Belgium have failed to win their last four away games, drawing three and losing once, but this gives Poland a real chance of a result here.

Poland have lost just twice in their last 10 home games and the hosts could give Belgium a real run for their money here in a clash that could end all-square.
