Our strikers need to improve – Heart of Lions coach Bashir Hayford

Heart of Lions coach Bashir Hayford has urged his strikers to improve in their scoring abilities after failing to live up to expectations in their game against Great Olympics.

The Kpando-based club succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to the Dade boys in the week 19 of the Ghana Premier League clash played at the WAFA Park.

Striker Razak Yussif scored all goals to propel the two-time Ghana Premier League winners to victory last Saturday.

The home team opened the scoring after just six minutes into the game through Razak Yussif as they went to recess with the advantage.

Great Olympics sealed victory in the 63rd minute, when Razak Yussif fired home the second goal of the match.

After the game, the experienced coach urged his attackers to improve their performance to aid the club in subsequent games.

“Our strikers need to improve. When we talk about qualities of a striker I have a problem but they are strikers now that am working on them, I want to push some qualities into them and maybe, by the tenth game in charge I might see some changes. Training is all about improvement, so I want to see how they can improve in goalscoring” he said.

Heart of Lions are currently in the relegation drop after 19 matches into the Ghana Premier League campaign.

They 17th on the league log with 18 points and must play above themselves to beat the drop at the end of the season.
