Lorient defender Nathaniel Adjei expresses gratitude to fans after victory at Rennais

Ghanaian international Nathaniel Adjei has hailed Lorient fans after triumphing over Stade Rennais in the French Ligue 1.

Adjei, who joined Lorient during the January transfer window played a huge role to propel his outfit to snatch victory at the Roazhon Park.

The 21-year-old was rock-solid at the back as his side defied all odds to secure victory against Rennais in the week 24 of the top-flight on Sunday.

The first half of the game ended in a pulsating goalless draw, as both teams struggled to find the back of the net in the encounter.

Lorient opened the scoring through Mohamed Bamba in the 59th minute mark before Elie Kroupi sealed victory for the visitors on stoppage time.

But Rennais managed to grab a consolation goal in injury time through Amine Gouiri.

“Huge 3 points yesterday, fans were class” he wrote on Instagram.

Nathaniel Adjei joined Lorient during the January transfer window and has since established himself as a key member of the team.

The 21-year-old has made a good account of himself in the six games he has played so far for the club.

Out of the six games, Lorient have recorded four wins, one draw and one defeat.

His loan deal is expected to expire in the summer.
