Our referees must do better – David Ocloo after Asante Kotoko defeat to Heart of Lions

Assistant coach of Asante Kotoko, David Ocloo, criticized the central referee following their loss to Heart of Lions.

The Porcupine Warriors were defeated by the home side who secured a 1-0 victory thanks to Godfred Kwadwo Asamoah’s 52nd-minute goal in a matchday 18 fixture at the Hohoe Sports Stadium on Saturday.

After the game, Ocloo voiced his concerns about the quality of officiating and stressed the need for match officials to improve.

“I wouldn’t want to talk about the referee but we were all here and saw what happened,” he commented. “I think if we want our football to go forward, our referees need to be up there,” he added.

As a result of the defeat, Asante Kotoko is currently in 3rd place with 29 points.

They will be aiming to return to winning ways when they face Bibiani Gold Stars in their next fixture on March 3rd at the Accra Sports Stadium.
