Former Hearts of Oak board member, Alhaji Braimah Akanbi, has dismissed reports of tension within the club’s technical setup following the appointment of Mas-Ud Didi Dramani as head coach.
Dramani’s arrival has raised questions about the future of Aboubakar Ouattara, who served as head coach for over a season after originally joining the club in a technical director role.
Some reports had suggested that Ouattara might be sidelined following the latest reshuffle, but Akanbi insists that the Ivorian coach has accepted the new direction without objection.
“We’ve sat with him and told him, ‘This is the direction we want to go,’ and he has agreed. What is the problem here?” Akanbi said in an interview with Asempa FM.
He emphasized that the changes were communicated clearly and respectfully, with Ouattara giving his full understanding and cooperation.
Dramani is expected to officially assume his duties this week as the Phobians ramp up preparations for the 2025 President’s Cup. However, the club has yet to confirm the specific role Ouattara will play moving forward.
