Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has expressed heartfelt appreciation to the staff and management of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital following a visit to the facility in Accra on Monday.
Addo, who was accompanied by members of the national team’s technical staff, praised the hospital for its commitment to delivering quality healthcare despite persistent financial and logistical challenges.
“Big, big respect for what you have been doing the last year,” Addo stated, acknowledging the institution’s continued service to the public, particularly vulnerable members of the community who struggle to afford medical care.
He further assured that the visit would not be a one-off gesture, stressing the team’s intention to explore ways of offering continuous support to the facility.
“This won’t be the last time that we can find a solution to continuously support you. We really, really appreciate what this institution is doing for the people here in Accra. And we know that there are many people who even can’t afford a lot of things,” he said.
Addo emphasised the importance of public recognition and collective responsibility in strengthening Ghana’s healthcare system, urging individuals and organisations to lend their support to the hospital.
The visit, which also included Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku and officials of the Black Stars setup, highlighted the role of sports figures in promoting social impact initiatives and community solidarity across the country.
