Ghanaian football star Osman Bukari has broken his silence following the national team’s disappointing exit from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
In a heartfelt message posted on social media, Bukari expressed the difficulty he faced in finding the right words to address the nation’s fans after the team’s failure to advance to the knock out stage.
The Black Stars finished third in Group B with two points following a 2-1 defeat to Cape Verde, and draws against Egypt and Mozambique.
The midfielder acknowledged the embarrassment the team brought to the nation and took personal responsibility for his role in the setback.
With sincerity, he rendered an unqualified apology for the mistakes made, assuring fans that the team would bounce back stronger in the future.
“It has taken me quite a number of days to gather the words to address you our dear fans, because of the embarrassment we brought on the nation & the fact that we let you down and our inability to advance to the next stage has hit heavily on me, for I contributed a part in it.
I would like to render an unqualified apology for the mistakes and assure you that we will come back better and stronger for team and the country. I hope and ask that you forgive us. We live to fight someday. Thank y’all for the encouragement, love and support!!🙏🏽🇬🇭” Osman bukari wrote on X.
