In the early hours of Sunday, Orlando City host Philadelphia Union at the Exploria Stadium as the visitors look to maintain their lead at the top of the Eastern Conference.

Orlando City

Oscar Pareja’s team currently sit in fifth place in the standings, in a play-off spot and four points clear of eighth-place Charlotte FC in the race for a top-seven finish. The Floridian side head into this game in inconsistent league form in MLS. Although they are unbeaten in three MLS games, they have also won just one of their previous five league matches.

Last time out, Orlando drew 1-1 at Atlanta. The game produced another low-scoring encounter for the home team, as four of their last five MLS games have now produced under 2.5 goals.

City’s recent home form has been the definition of inconsistent, as they have won five and lost five of their last ten matches on home soil in MLS. Unlike their recent general games, Orlando’s recent league matches have been high-scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in five of their last six games on home soil.

Philadelphia Union

The Union are currently top of the Eastern Conference table but are just a point ahead of second-place New York City in the fight for the top spot in the standings.

Jim Curtain’s team has an excellent recent record in MLS, as they are unbeaten in four league outings, having recorded three straight victories in the Eastern Conference. They have also been prolific of late in those recent wins, scoring at least two goals in all three victories.

The visitor’s recent record on the road is mixed, though, as Philadelphia has won just one of their last four away games in the Eastern Conference.

What does Forebet predict?

Forebet predicts that Philadelphia will record a comfortable win in a high-scoring encounter to maintain their lead at the top of the standings.
