Former Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko Opoku Nti has described his tenure as a “sacrificial job”.

He took over the role following Dr. KK Sarpong’s resignation and worked closely with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to stabilize the club.

In a recent interview with Joy Sports, Nti reflected on his time at the helm, highlighting the sacrifices he made for the club’s success.

“What I knew was that the board was supposed to pre-finance the club but I was doing that myself though I thought it was the duty of the board,” he stated.

Nti emphasized the challenges of financing the club, ensuring that funds were used appropriately, and maintaining timely payments to players to keep their morale high.

“It never happened under my tenure because I knew for sure that if management pays salaries and winning bonuses on time, it gives the players a good frame of mind to also do their job,” he explained.
