“Only Insiders Can know what went wrong” – Tanko reflects on RTU’s missed promotion

Following RTU’s playoff defeat to Techiman Eleven Wonders, former head coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko has expressed disappointment at the club’s inability to return to the Ghana Premier League, stating that the reasons behind their failure remain unclear to outsiders.

Tanko, who observed the team’s campaign independently, emphasized that while he couldn’t pinpoint what went wrong, those within the club might have better insight.

“It is rather unfortunate that they could not move to the Ghana Premier League due to reasons I cannot tell,” Tanko said. “Only insiders can know because I came to observe as an independent person, and I would not be able to tell what really went wrong.”

RTU’s defeat ends their hopes of returning to top-flight football this season, but Tanko remains optimistic about their future if the club remains consistent in its development.
