“One Point Here? I’ll Take It!” — Ibrahim Tanko Defends Medeama SC Stumble

Head coach Medeama SC, Ibrahim Tanko, has defended his side’s goalless draw against Swedru All Blacks, insisting a point on the road is nothing to scoff at — even as the title race tightens dramatically in the Ghana Premier League.

The league leaders travelled into hostile territory in Week 24 desperate to end a worrying three-game winless run. They dominated spells, showed composure in possession, and probed with intent — but the cutting edge was missing.

Chances came.

The breakthrough never did.

At the final whistle, Medeama had to settle for a stalemate — a result that trims their advantage at the summit to just one fragile point after four straight matches without victory.

Tanko, however, refused to panic.

“I think we did very well. It was a difficult away game,” he declared.

“Playing against a team struggling for relegation is always difficult. But I think one point from this venue — I’m okay with that.”

It was the voice of a man balancing realism with ambition.

But make no mistake ; the pressure is mounting.

With rivals breathing down their necks, the once-comfortable cushion at the top has evaporated into a razor-thin margin. Momentum, once firmly in Medeama’s corner, now feels uncertain.

Next up? A crucial Week 25 showdown at home against Hohoe United ;  a side fighting for survival and playing with desperation.

For Medeama, the message is clear: one point may be acceptable today.

But if the drought continues, the title dream could slip away tomorrow.
