PSG Expected Back in the Win Column Against Nice

Paris Saint-Germain will head on the road as they look to overturn their terrible run of form in recent weeks that has seen Lens and Marseille close the gap in the title race with Nice up next at the Allianz Riviera for Kylian Mbappe and co.

PSG have stunningly lost their past two home games against Rennes and Lyon without even scoring a goal and letting in three.

It is the first time this campaign that they’ve lost consecutive home games and Lens and Marseille just behind them now come into this game just six points behind them.

Although the reigning champions of France are expected to win the title, although another loss for PSG and wins for those below them would spark a few fears around the Parc de Princes.

At the same time, Nice are heading into this one with hopes of getting closer to the top five once more as they sit down in eighth and with a point to prove in this one.

PSG’s last win came against Brest away from home as the club also lost 2-0 away to Bayern Munich in the Champions League to make it just one win in the past month for Lionel Messi and co. Carlos Soler scored that day against Brest, as Mbappe scored in the 90th minute to win the game.

As for Nice, they are struggling in the league after rising up from 10th into fifth shortly after the World Cup break. Didier Digard’s men head into this one with four draws in a row against Auxerre, Nantes, Lorient and Angers to throw them down into eighth in the table. Digard’s side are now sitting behind Lille by seven points.

There is still a bit of hope in the season for Nice, as they eased past Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa Conference League round of 16 4-1 after a 1-0 away win this time last month and a 3-1 home victory three weeks ago.

Nice have only let in 26 goals this season and this is also a better defensive record than PSG. The eighth-placed side have only scored 38 goals, however, which is almost half that PSG’s tally (68).

At the same time, Nice have lost only six games this campaign and this is just one more than the league leaders, despite 21 points separating the two.

Forebet predicts a win for PSG and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
