Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum has denied reports claiming that former Black Queens coach Nora Hauptle left her role due to lack of friendly games.
The Swiss trainer, who was hired in 2023, optede not to renew her contract with the Ghana Football Association.
She joined Zambia’s Copper Queens on a three-year deal.
Nora Hauptle’s exit has nothing to do with lack of friendly games,” Asante Twum told Asempa FM.
“The only month we couldn’t play a friendly was in November.
“We wrote to the Sports Ministry for assistance and they assured us of assistance but they later wrote to us that they can’t help so Nora’s exit is not about lack of friendly games. She left because she decided not to extend her contract,” Henry added.
Nora qualified Ghana for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after the nation missed the previous two editions.
