Ghana defender Mohammed Salisu says hard work and discipline have been central to his impressive return to form with AS Monaco this season.
After enduring a mixed debut campaign in France where he made just 24 appearances and often played a backup role the Black Stars centre-back has reclaimed a regular starting place, featuring in Monaco’s last seven matches.
Speaking about his resurgence, Salisu explained that his consistent performances stem from a renewed focus and commitment.
“I gave myself the chance to earn this spot by working hard, and that’s why I’m not surprised to be playing regularly now. In training, I’m improving and making sure to stay as disciplined as possible, and I’ve been doing that since the restart,” he said.
The 26-year-old has made six Ligue 1 appearances this season, scoring once, and has also featured three times in the UEFA Champions League.
Since joining Monaco from Southampton in the summer of 2023, Salisu has racked up 46 appearances, scoring four goals and providing one assist form that has firmly re-established him as one of Ghana’s most dependable defenders in Europe.
