West Ham United manager David Moyes has confirmed Ghanaian attacking midfielder Mohammed Kudus could be handed first Premier League start against Aston Villa on Sunday.
The 23-year-old is yet to be handed a starting spot, since joining the Hammers in the summer despite his impressing performance.
The former Ajax man came off the bench to score and salvage a point for West Ham in their 2-2 draw with Newcastle United before the International break.
Moyes said Kudus is now in contention to start in the English top-flight.
“He is very close to playing,” he said.
“But to be fair to him, he was close when he arrived. Sometimes players come in at different levels of fitness and you need time to figure out where they are at, but Mo could play now and he has been playing.
Mohammed Kudus has played five games for West Ham United in the English Premier League and has scored a goal.
