Turkish Süper Lig returnees Kocaelispor are eyeing a move for Swiss-Ghanaian defender Gregory Wüthrich as they look to bolster their defence ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The 29-year-old currently plays for Sturm Graz in the Austrian Bundesliga, where he has established himself as a key figure.
Wüthrich has featured in over 178 games for the Austrian outfit, contributing 11 goals and providing 7 assists from his centre-back position.
Born in Switzerland, the defender is eligible to represent Ghana through his mother and has previously attracted interest from the Black Stars’ technical team.
A switch to the more visible Turkish top flight could further boost his chances of earning a national team call-up, particularly as Ghana prepares for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Kocaelispor are looking to build a competitive squad following their promotion and believe Wüthrich’s experience in Europe could provide the defensive stability they need.
Talks are ongoing, with the club hopeful of securing his signature before the start of pre-season.
