Mohammed Kudus has held a meeting with Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder to talk about his disappointment about limited playing opportunities.
The Ghanaian midfielder has not started any game this season, coming from the bench in all three matches in the Eredivisie.
He has netted three goals during pre-season more than any other player in the squad.
“We spoke with him three times because he also thinks he should play,” Schreuder said after the match between Ajax and Sparta.
“Of course, I see that he is disappointed now and then. That is also good and normal. It is about whether you can control that emotion for the team. He handles that well,” he added.
The former Nordsjaelland attacking midfielder came on as substitute on the 70 minute in their 1-0 win over Sparta
Kudus want more playing time to keep his form ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in November.
