Eredivisie giants Ajax have terminated the contract of head coach Alfred Schreuder with immediate effect.
This comes following a 1-1 draw with relegation-threatened Volendam at the Amsterdam Arena on Thursday night.
Mohammed Kudus climbed off the bench to spare his team’s blushes and salvage a late point but that was ultimately not enough to save his coach’s job.
Schreuder replaced Ten Haag last June but the club has decided to fire him after a poor run of results.
Ajax have drawn their last five league fixtures leaving them 5th on the standings and seven points a drift league leaders Feyenoord.
