Ghana midfielder Majeed Ashimeru is hoping of a possible call-up in the Blackstars squad for the World Cup in Qatar later this year.
The enterprising midfielder is keen to be given the opportunity of realizing a childhood dream of playing for the country at the highest stage, the World Cup.
The 24-year-old, who has been knocking hard on the Blackstars’ door did not make the squad for the Kirin tournament in Japan but will be hoping there’s still enough time to get a call-up to the national team.
“I am fully Ghanaian, I support the Blackstars, I won’t turn down an opportunity of playing for the team, will appreciate them calling me to come and play for them,” Ashimeru told JoyNews.
“It’s in every footballer’s plans, you have to earn it, you have to put in more hard work, i will make sure i can do what I can do,” He concluded.
Ashimeru had a blistering campaign in Belgium in which he was involved in 6 goals in 31 games for the Belgian giants.
