Medeama star called up to replace injured Baba Rahman in Ghana squad

Medeama SC Left back, Fatawu Hamidu has been called up by Chris Hughton to replace the injured Baba Abdul Rahman in the Black Stars squad for the upcoming international friendly against Liberia.

Baba Rahman picked up a knock during Ghana’s 2-1 win over Central African Republic in the final round of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Kumasi on Thursday.

The PAOK left-back has returned to Greece to continue his rehabilitation. He will be replaced by debutant Fatawu Hamidu of Medeama.

The Black Stars are set to face Liberia at the Accra Sports stadium on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, as part of preparations towards the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire.
