Sekondi Hasaacas were frustrated to a 1-1 draw by title-holders AshantiGold at the Essipong Stadium in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
Eric Bekoe fired Hasmal into the lead with an exquisite penalty kick in the 53rd minute but defender Kadri Mohammed levelled for the travelers two minutes from time.
Bashir Hayford’s men hogged possession in their favour but it was Hasmal who scored first after a Samuel Afful explosive move from the right forced an AshantiGold defender to handle the ball.
Bekoe stepped up to send Robert Dabuo the wrong side for the opener.
Hasmal’s defence placed their soul on the ball, defending gallantly but Kadri rose admirably to head home a Fuseini Nuhu cross late into the game.
