On Wednesday night, Maccabi Haifa hosts PSG at the Sammy Ofer Stadium on gameweek two of Group H in the Champions League.

The home team have enjoyed a strong start to their domestic league campaign, winning all four matches so far in the Ligat Ha’al.

However, Maccabi kicked off their Champions League campaign with a 2-0 defeat in Lisbon against Benfica.

The defeat means that Maccabi Haifa has won just one of their previous four matches in European football’s elite competition. The Israeli side has conceded at least two goals in their last four outings in the Champions League. Maccabi’s poor defensive record could continue against PSG, who are, of course, renowned for their outstanding attacking prowess.

A big positive for the home team is their attacking efforts of late in the Champions League, as Maccabi Haifa has scored at least two goals in four of their previous six matches in the competition.

The Parisians have kicked off their campaign in an ominous fashion, with the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar in top form.

Christopher Galtier’s team top Ligue One, having won eight of their nine matches in all competitions this season. Last time out, PSG defeated Brest 1-0 at the Parc des Princes.

PSG started their Champions League campaign with a 2-1 home win over Juventus. The victory was their third win in their last four matches in the Champions League.

The reigning French champions have been formidable of late on home soil in the Champions League. They are currently on a five-game winning streak, having scored at least two goals in four of their five matches in the stellar run.
