This Saturday sees another French top flight season winding up in this final matchday on Saturday and features the upcoming clash between Lorient and Troyes at the Stade Yves Allainmat with both teams keen to produce the best finish they can.
Although Lorient sit fourth from bottom and just one league position above the relegation play-off spot, the hosts hold a comfortable and unassailable four-point cushion above third from bottom side, Metz, heading into this final day of the Ligue 1 season.

This is perhaps just as well for Lorient as the hosts have failed to win any of their last four matches overall and having also lost three of these four games with defeats incurred against Rennes, Reims and Marseille, the home side may well settle for a point here this Saturday.
The bigger picture shows Lorient have managed to muster just five league wins from their last 30 games overall which also consists of 17 defeats and eight draws.
Results on home soil have produced just three wins in their last 15 games as well.
Although Troyes sit two league positions and two points above their Saturday’s hosts, Lorient, the visitors have also had some trouble in producing positive results in the past few weeks which have yielded just one win out of their last seven games overall.
That solitary win came in the shape of a resounding 3-0 home win over Lille but four defeats within this seven-game period have prevented Troyes from lifting themselves any higher up the Ligue 1 ladder and indeed, following their 3-1 loss at home to Lens last weekend, Troyes have dropped down to 15th place in the French top flight standings.
Results overall have been fairly similar for Troyes as that of their hosts as the visitors have gained just five wins out of their last 21 matches.
Three of these wins were achieved on home soil at their Stade de l’Aube, while form away from home has been pretty inconsistent.
Troyes are without an away win in their last four outings on the road, suffering defeats at Monaco and Nice and drawing at St Etienne and PSG, the latter being a solid 2-2 draw.
But the bigger picture shows Troyes have managed to collect just four wins out of their last 34 outings on the road.
Therefore, this clash may well end up in a stalemate with both teams cancelling each other out.
