Liverpool weigh move for Paris Saint-Germain pair Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye

Liverpool are considering a move for two Paris Saint-Germain forwards, with the club assessing whether to make an offer for Ibrahim Mbaye and his team-mate Bradley Barcola during the current summer transfer window.

The proposed double deal forms part of Liverpool’s efforts to strengthen their attack before the new season. The club are looking for additional attacking options following the departure of former star Mohamed Salah to Turkish side Trabzonspor.

According to the English newspaper Daily Mail, Liverpool are among the clubs interested in Senegalese winger Mbaye. Manchester City and Tottenham are also understood to have shown an interest in the Paris Saint-Germain player.

Liverpool are now weighing up the possibility of attempting to sign both Mbaye and Barcola. The prospect of bringing in the two quick forwards is being considered amid growing concern over the strength and depth of Liverpool’s attacking department.

Paris Saint-Germain are expected to demand more than £150m for the pair if they decide to allow both players to leave this summer. The potential fee would make the proposed deal a significant investment for Liverpool as they seek to rebuild their forward line.

The English club are believed to see an opportunity in the fact that Barcola and Mbaye have spent much of their time on the Paris Saint-Germain substitutes’ bench. Liverpool want to take advantage of their limited regular involvement by trying to bring them to the club and increase the options available in attack.

Barcola and Mbaye are viewed as players capable of adding pace to Liverpool’s forward line. The possibility of recruiting both at the same time would give the club a chance to address its attacking needs through one major operation, although Paris Saint-Germain’s valuation could prove a significant obstacle.

Liverpool’s interest comes as they prepare for the new campaign without Salah, whose move to Trabzonspor has left the club seeking further attacking reinforcements. The search for new forwards has therefore become an important part of their summer planning.

For now, the proposed move remains under consideration rather than a completed agreement. Liverpool must decide whether to submit an offer for the Paris Saint-Germain pair, while the French club would have to determine whether a bid exceeding £150m would be enough to persuade them to part with both players.

With Manchester City and Tottenham also linked with Mbaye, Liverpool may face competition if they proceed. Their plan to pursue Barcola as well as Mbaye could, however, provide a different route to strengthening the squad, provided the financial terms can be agreed with Paris Saint-Germain.
