As we head into Matchday 11 of the Premier League season, Manchester City hold a 13-point lead over struggling Liverpool. What will happen when the two rivals face off at Anfield on Sunday?

Pep Guardiola’s side sit second in the table – one point behind Arsenal – and remain the only unbeaten team in the division this term.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp’s side find themselves all the way down in tenth – six points outside the top four and only four points above the relegation zone.

Liverpool have only managed to win two of their eight Premier League games this season, recording four draws and two losses.

The Reds head into Sunday’s clash on a three-game winless run in the league, having drawn with Everton (0-0) and Brighton (3-3) before losing to Arsenal (3-2).

It is worth noting that Liverpool have scored in each of their past 23 home league games, meaning they should find the net this weekend.

Klopp’s men crushed Rangers 7-1 in the Champions League on Wednesday, with Mohamed Salah netting a hat-trick and Roberto Firmino bagging a brace.

On the flip side, Man City have yet to taste defeat in the Premier League this term – securing seven wins and two draws.

In addition to being the league’s top scorers with 33 goals (3.66 goals per game), Guardiola’s men boast the joint-best defensive record with nine goals (1 goal against per game).

Erling Haaland has made a phenomenal start to life in Manchester City, bagging 20 goals and three assists in 13 matches across all competitions.

However, the lethal striker failed to add to his tally in midweek as Man City were held to a goalless draw by FC Copenhagen in the Champions League.

Head-to-head: Liverpool have a solid recent record in this fixture, losing just one of their previous six meetings with Man City across all competitions.

In the Premier League, however, Liverpool have only managed to win one of their last eight clashes with Man City – conceding over 2.5 goals in two defeats during that period.

Team news: Trent Alexandar-Arnold, Joel Matip and Luis Diaz have joined Naby Keita, Curtis Jones, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Arthur on Liverpool’s injury list.

Man City also have a number of key players missing through injury, including John Stones, Kyle Walker and Kalvin Phillips.

While Liverpool have struggled to discover their best form this season, Man City have hit the ground running and look set to claim all three points on Sunday.

Forbet predicts that Liverpool and Man City will combine for over 4.5 goals. However, Guardiola’s side are expected to come out on top.
