Liverpool receive double injury boost; first-team duo to return against Norwich City

Liverpool have been handed two major injury boosts.

The Merseyside club are preparing for an important run of fixtures, which includes two cup games.

First up for the Reds is a Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Fulham on Wednesday night followed by an FA Cup Fourth Round home tie against Norwich City on Sunday.

Busy preparing for a hectic period, Jurgen Klopp will know how important it is to have his best players available.

And according to assistant manager Pep Lijnders, Klopp will soon welcome back Trent-Alexander Arnold (knee) and Dominic Szoboszlai (thigh) following the pair’s recent injuries.

“Trent [Alexander-Arnold] will join team training later this week,” he told reporters, as quoted by David Lynch.

“Dom [Szoboszlai] trained with us yesterday but tomorrow comes too soon.”

Although tomorrow night’s game against Fulham will come too soon for the pair, bringing them back in time for the weekend will be a huge boost.

Between them, the pair have directly contributed to 18 goals, across all competitions, so if the club are to enjoy another trophy-laddened campaign, both Alexander-Arnold and Szoboszlai will be key.
