It’s business time in the 2023/24 Premier League season as we hurtle downhill at full speed towards the climax of the campaign. Following a bumper midweek fixture list we’re settling in for another packed weekend of action kicked off by Crystal Palace hosting Manchester City at 12.30pm on Saturday. There’s also a bevvy of 3pm games before the fascinating Brighton v Arsenal at 5.30pm.

There’s three Sunday matches and the best comes first at 3.30pm with Liverpool heading to their old friends Manchester United. There’s two games later in the day and it’s Spurs v Nottingham Forest on the box at the unusual Sunday slot of 6pm.

So, with so much action to get stuck in to, it’s only right that we bring in our resident tipster and Premier League predicting guru, Mark Lawrenson who’s champing at the bit to two-foot game week 31 on the calendar.

TV: TNT Sports 1 and TNT Sports Ultimate

Crystal Palace haven’t won may under their new manager Oliver Glasner but he’s made them a little more difficult to beat. Manchester City rested Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland during the week and still won thanks to Phil Foden. City will have too much firepower for Palace. Crystal Palace 0-3 Manchester City.

Unai Emery changed his team against Manchester City, Ollie Watkins didn’t play but I think he had a niggle and was being saved for Brentford who haven’t won for ages and ages but are still not going to be relegated. I’ll go for a home win. Aston Villa 2-1 Brentford.

I fancy Everton to win here. I think scoring late with that penalty in the 1-1 draw with Newcastle will be a big boost for them and they know they have to beat teams like Burnley to stay in the league. Everton 2-0 Burnley.

Fulham are a toss of a coin now. One day they’re really good, the next day they’re awful. They were hopeless in the first half against Nottingham Forest but I’ll sit on the fence here. Fulham 1-1 Newcastle.

Bournemouth have got more points than they had last year already so that’s great for them. Luton have got loads of injuries, they’re still difficult to play against, but Bournemouth are in really good form at the moment. Luton 0-2 Bournemouth.

These two drew during the week so I’m going to go for another draw. Wolves are another one who have had a really good season with their manager Gary O’Neil. They’ve got most of their players back now and they’re a difficult side to handle. Wolves 1-1 West Ham.

TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

This will be a good game, both teams like to play. Mikel Arteta left out some of his better players against Luton so they’ll be fresh for this game. I’m on the away win, Arsenal have lots of momentum. Brighton 1-2 Arsenal.

TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

Manchester United’s centre backs were starting to come back from injury but two went off in Thursday’s incredible loss to Chelsea and that definitely didn’t help. Liverpool have plenty of players on the way back. Whether they start I’m not sure but I’m going for Liverpool to win this. I just don’t trust Man United I’m afraid. Manchester United 1-3 Liverpool.

Sheffield United put up a good fight against Liverpool and Chelsea are a little but all over the place which was shown in that dramatic late win over Manchester Untied. You’d have to side with Chelsea as Sheffield United struggle to win at home, well they struggle to win anywhere! Sheffield United 1-2 Chelsea.

TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

Nottingham Forest had a great win at Fulham in the week and I didn’t realise just how close they were to the drop zone. I don’t fancy them to get anything because Tottenham will come and attack them like they do against everybody. Tottenham 3-0 Nottingham Forest.
