License D Coaching Course successfully ends in Kumasi

The GFA Football School, in partnership with the Ashanti Regional Football Association, has completed another successful Licence D Coaching Course in Kumasi.

The residential course, which lasted for eight (8) days, saw course participants being taken through both theory and practical aspects of coaching.

The course was under the auspices of GFA Technical Director Prof. Joseph Kwame Mintah, GFA Director of Coach Education, Desmond Ofei Sakyi with administrative support from Andrews Kwesi Eshun.

CAF Certified Coaching Course Instructors like Frimpong Manso, Charles Anokye Frimpong, Prince Acheampong, and Nana Yaw Amankwah ensured that participants undertook the course in the stipulated contact hours and were examined as required by the CAF Convention.

At the closing ceremony, the Ashanti RFA Chairman, Osei Tutu Agyemang, tasked participants to be good ambassadors for the coaching profession.

Participants of the course included former players and a lady each from the Regional Women’s Division One League clubs in the Ashanti Region.

Former Ghana Premier League stars Gabriel Opoku Ware and Afrane Yeboah (Asante Kotoko), Suraj Mohammed (King Faisal), Stephen Kumah (Liberty Professionals) and Larbi Koomson (Asante Kotoko and AshGold) participated in the Coaching Course.

The other ladies from the Regional Women’s Division One League in the remaining nine (9) football regions will undertake their Licence D Coaching Course in the coming days.
