A wonderful gesture! The 2004 Golden Ball Andriy Shevchenko presented this afternoon to Robert Lewandowski, a captain’s armband in the colors of Ukraine. The Pole had affirmed his support for the Ukrainians during the Russian invasion last February. The striker already wore an armband with the Ukrainian flag when he played for Bayern Munich last season, to show his support for the Ukrainian people in this time of war. The Barça player has already announced on his Instagram account that he will wear this special armband with Poland during the 2022 Cup in Qatar. A great gesture from the Polish striker.

“Thank you Andriy. It was a pleasure to meet you! It will be an honor for me to wear this captain’s armband in the colors of Ukraine at the World Cup.
