Lee Phelps’ Champions League Picks: Bellingham to score again

These Champions League Wednesdays are fast becoming my favourite day of the week, with a bit of everything on offer. You’ll be able to find your own home team acca, so I’m looking at three goal scorers.

We’ll start with Napoli at home Union Berlin, who are pointless in their group so far and lost 1-0 to the Italians last time out. That goal was scored by Giacomo Raspadori, who went on to score in his next two games and comes into this one on a hot streak. He’s 17/10 to score anytime, which is good enough for me as a single, but will definitely bump the treble up.

Next Bayern Munich have Galatasaray at home and this pick won’t come as any surprise to you: Harry Kane. If you want more value you could look at Kingsley Coman, but I’m sticking with the England skipper. He’s scored back-to-back hat-tricks in the Bundesliga, got one in the reverse fixtures against the Turkish side and is obviously playing exceptionally well. He’s 15/2 to score three again here, but I’ll settle for a goal at anytime as the second leg.

Finally another England star, Jude Bellingham, is in action as Real Madrid host Braga. Bellingham had a rare game at the weekend – neither scoring or setting up a goal, but his record is well publicised this season and he scored against the Portuguese side at their place, so he goes in the treble which comes out at around 11/2.

All eyes are back on Manchester United in the Champions League as they travel to Denmark to face Copenhagen. A lot has been made about United’s performances rather than results recently and I think they could come unstuck here.

They only beat Copenhagen thanks to a 97th minute penalty save and, with this being a must win game for the home side, I think over 3/1 for them is just too big. They’ve scored nine goals in their domestic competition since that loss and can see them edging out United with both teams scoring.

With all the riches on display across the night’s fixtures, PSV against Lens won’t get much attention, but I think the French side are a big price to win in Eindhoven. Their away form is solid in the Champions League, with a draw in Seville already, and of course, they’ve beaten Arsenal as well, not many teams have done that this season so far.

Don’t get me wrong, PSV are a formidable home team, extending their winning run to 11 in their domestic division at the weekend, and they are capable of scoring lots of goals, but at around 17/5, I’ll side with Lens to win this one.
