Former Ghanaian footballer Laryea Kingston has praised Otto Addo’s impressive start as the Black Stars’ manager.
Addo’s second stint has seen the team secure two consecutive wins, defeating Mali 2-1 and the Central African Republic (CAR) 4-3 in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
In an interview with GTV Sports Plus, Kingston commended Addo’s work, urging him to assert his authority and leave a lasting impact on the team.
“I think he has clearly shown what he wants to do work but he should send the message to the players that this is how we must approach the game and we must deliver. These players cannot be taught how to play football but Otto Addo must stamp his authority on the team,” Kingston said.
Kingston’s endorsement comes as a vote of confidence in Addo’s leadership, as the Black Stars aim to build momentum in the qualifying campaign.
After the games with Mali and the Central African Republic, the Black Stars will not play any matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers until March 2025.
